Senior Windows Application Support Engineer, Great Neck, NY

We are looking for a Senior Application (Windows) Support Engineer. You should have a passion, knowledge, drive and a thirst to innovate and grow a Microsoft Stack and improve processes globally. Be able to pass on your knowledge to the Global Team to strengthen technical and operational processes. Be willing to work in teams and on projects that are security, operations and business related to implement and streamline solutions. We support the users and team on Tier 2-3 related issues.
 
Responsibilities:
 
- Monitor and administer our Microsoft 365 tenants.
- Provide services and feedback to users and management in accordance with formal SLAs.
- Work closely with other IT teams including Information Security and Application Development teams to sustain a stable, highly performing, and available application environment:  Facilitate Office 365 platform services across all levels of the business including executive leadership. Support and maintain mobile device management (Intune), administer phone registration and advises on enterprise policies; installs, upgrades, configures, tests, maintains and supports operating system software in a production environment. Manages enterprise-class mobile device management solutions for IOS and Android devices. Supporting email integrations and configuring inbound/outbound mail flow topologies and SMTP relay.
- Complete incident and service requests in the agreed SLA timeframe.
- Conduct research, make evaluations and recommendations and maintain a high level of expertise in systems software to ensure departmental operations and operating environment are of the highest quality.
- Plan and implement new technologies and major releases for the most critical enterprise-wide business applications. Test, install, and migrate software, patches, upgrades, proxies, applications, and/or hardware.
- Communicate with IT groups to assess systems risks on those areas and to keep groups apprised of systems issues that may have an impact on those areas, including projected down times and business risks. Communicates with IT vendors to research and resolve issues.
- Write documentation, including project plans, backup plans, business continuance, installation procedures, and troubleshooting tips. Create diagrams, including technical topology.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Develop technical standards. Test and evaluate IT vendor products.
- Train and mentor staff. Resolve the most complex issues elevated from staff with less experience.
- Learn and understand client area business functions and requirements. Have the ability to determine the appropriate technical tool to address the client's business needs.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure safe and sound business operations.
 
Qualifications:
 
- 10+ years of total experience including, 8+ years' supporting Windows Systems and 5+ years supporting packaging software and/or SaaS applications (e.g., O365, Intune/SCCM, Jira/Confluence, Web-Ex/Zoom, Salesforce, NetSuite, etc.).
- Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or an equivalent combination of training/experience.
- Current Certifications in the following are a plus:  MCSE, CCNA, Azure, Office 365; ITIL Essentials; IT Security; Citrix.
- Admin experience/knowledge for Office 365/Microsoft 365.
- Experience in windows server technologies (incl Microsoft Active Directory, File Servers).
- Experience of providing user/technical support in a mixed IT environment, on-premise and cloud (Azure Active Directory).
- Working knowledge of remote access solutions, DNS configurations, Networking and Infrastructure is a plus.
- Experience administering other resources such as servers, IIS, etc. is a plus.
- Experience with and/or administrative skills in the following a plus:  Fuze, Salesforce, NetSuite, Dell Boomi, Jira/Confluence, Coupa, Bamboo HR, Linux.
- Strong customer service and orientation.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
