Job Description:

Network Engineer

-Maintain and administer financial networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
-Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures.
-Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network related issues.
-Replace faulty network hardware components when required.
-Monitor network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
-Confer with network users about solving existing system problems.
-Craft solutions to monitor performance of networks and computer systems.
-Coordinating computer network access and usage.
-Design, configure and test networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.
-Configure and deploy automation strategies.
-2-6 years of experience.
-Problem solver who is driven, self-motivated, and an outside of the box thinker.
-Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, with a network engineering focus.
-Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
-Problem solver who thinks through problems and visualizes solutions.
-Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot various network topologies.
-Experience working with infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers.
-Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
-Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for designing and planning network communication systems.
-Quick learner who can utilize available resources to learn new technology and products.
-Ability to work well with all levels of employees within the firm as well as external vendors.
-A self-starter able to work both independently and in a small team environment.
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Dependable and flexible when necessary.
-Network security experience.
-LAN, WAN and wireless experience.
*Looking for candidates from top tier universities with a strong GPA.  PhD in mathematics, statistics, physics or engineering is preferred.  Will consider candidates who have a Master's degree along with work experience.  Top universities include Massachusetts Institute of Technology/MIT, Carnegie Mellon University, Princeton University, Harvard University, University of California-Berkeley, Stanford University, University of Chicago, California Institute of Technology, University of California, Los Angeles, Columbia University, New York University, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Yale University, Cornell University, Brown University, etc.
