Job Description:

Validation Engineer
 
This position will work on system/validation-level engineering and electrical problem analysis for automotive infotainment systems.  Common tasks will include defining test specifications and use cases for system requirements and performing testing to make sure requirements are implemented correctly.  Work on validation test plans, timing, and reports.  The ideal candidate would have strong in-vehicle bus experience, software, system, and functional testing, as well as some degree of hardware and software design experience.
 
Responsibilities:
 
-Define test specification and procedures for OEM customers’ specification.
-Work directly with customer validation team in reporting issues found during testing, discuss test results, and negotiate issues based on requirements.
-Weekly meeting with customer may be required to work through issues and issues backlog.
-Prepare and support technical review meetings with OEM customers for system-level engineering issues.
-Communicate, manage, and drive testing teams overseas where additional validation takes place.
-Be a single contact point to create validation test plans, manage validation scheduling, and reporting to meet customer milestones across multiple validation test locations.
-Work on and negotiate software, functional, and system validation plans with customer.
-Work with the Software and systems teams on complex issues found.
-Improve the validation process based on lessons learned.
-Be able to investigate, analyze issues, and provide a clear report on the issues found.
-Capture and analyze in-vehicle bus data such as CAN and other logs as required.
-Testing and investigation of issues at customer sites when required.
 
Qualifications:
 
-Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Software Engineering (or related technical field), Experience working with GM in an electrical, software, or systems role.
-Hands-on GMLAN experience and familiarity with GMLAN principles such as power moding, Diagnostics, and end-of-line programming.
-Understand requirements and experience with requirements testing.
-Must be able to understand electrical schematics and block diagrams.
-Hands-on knowledge of electrical debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, etc.
-Previous experience with infotainment products (radios, navigation, amplifier, etc.)
